Pace track coach Mario Cisneros said Bethel University is getting an equally dedicated athlete in Gonzalez.
“I’m excited because this gives him an opportunity to get a (college) education,” Cisneros said. “Other athletes in our program have gotten an
education because of that (running). He’s a hard worker, and I’m sure he’ll do well over there. I’m going to miss him.”
Cisneros said Gonzalez is always smiling when he runs, proof that he loves his sport.
“I love to train, I love to practice hard and I love to run hard,” the standout Pace runner said. “I just want to do my best every time. I hope it’s
going to be great over there. They tell me it’s great. I just want to study and get my education while trying my best in running.
“I would like to thank my parents (Paulo and Janie Noyola), my coach, my teammates and everyone who has motivated me to push myself and run hard,” he added.
Gonzalez said he plans to study to become an athletic trainer.
“This is great,” he said. “I feel like I want to start running (for them) already.”
